The Step

Its hard to take a decision & even harder to execute it. The most tough decisions of ones life are the best decisions you ever made.

‘I have to walk to walk away, I have to take a stand now’, she said. Leaving behind moist eyes she told him,’ I have made a decision finally. I know you’ll hate me but then I can’t do this to us. You’re amazing but we don’t belong together.’ She moved out of it, out of something she has been in forever. Everybody was surprised for this was a thought nobody ever thought, she would walk away was something nobody ever thought of, but then sometimes you have to do the unexpected. Life is too short to live with regrets & compromises and so here the decision was made.

A lot of questions were in his mind but she had no explanation. He knew she’s gone for he saw nothing in her eyes, all that she had left with her was the hope that he’ll forgive her someday.  She stepped out of that door to a  new life, the life that fitted her imagined frames of life. The Step took her to the place where she was meant to be, where she saw the dreams she saw come true.

All it takes is belief & conviction to make a decision, rest just follows!

Unexplained!

Standard

Little she knew that the stolen glance was the beginning of a new story.

Like any other day Ayesha stepped out of  the house. The sun shone brightly as she walked through the streets of the city. With thoughts running in her mind, she reached the place where she was supposed to be, wiped the tiny droplets of sweat and sat down to think what has life come to.  She knew her day would end in a similar fashion waiting for the rise of another day.

The little world she was a part of seemed the perfect place to her for she has never seen the world outside.  She was scared to join a new story, to write a new story for herself.  Everything seemed right till she realized that the magic was in the making.

Ayesha lived an unreal world of her own, where everything was nice and the world was the perfect place. Where everybody was happy and life was the best thing that happened to anybody. She wouldn’t accept the harsh realities and would overlook them as an unreal dream. She wouldn’t let that tear in the eye soften her or that demand for happiness weaken her. She knew what she wanted from life, she knew how she would want to grow old till that magic finally took shape.

A lot of things in life happen without any rhyme or reason but then he would tell her that everything happens for a reason. He was beginning of the other story she was becoming a part of. The stolen glances when around, the meeting at every li’l minute they would get, the talks kept adding to the unexpected change. The pictures in the frame were changing and new memories for lifetime were getting added. The pages were turning and the story was growing. Every walk together seemed right, all the efforts seemed worth it, everything seemed right in place till she realized that this was a different life. A different life that seemed right but then it was not the time to make the change. She searched for the reason for how she felt but what was happening was beyond any explanation she could find. She was falling yet again. Her pre decided plans urged to change but she was too scared to accept the change.

She had a decided flow to her life but then he was a fresh breeze. She liked the change, she was changing, the way she looked at things changed. She knew at the back of her mind that this was not how things were supposed to be but  this new change fit well in her little world. She knew it would not last but  she was in love with life all over again. She was enthusiastic , the colours around seemed to have renewed themselves. This was a pleasant new twist in her story.

He was becoming a habit, a habit she would not want to get rid of.  She called him to talk, to tell him, to request him to stay there but it was time to let go.  It was time to step out of her unreal world and to see that things are not as simple as they seem to be. The unexplained was happening. Ayesha was out of expressions, she had lost the  sense of understanding yet again. But then it was time to take a stand, time to let go and let things be, time to wait and see.

With a half heart she accepted his proposal to stop the change and to let things be as they were. This was late for things had already changed. The added memories of the happy moments with him had made their place. She didn’t know what to do but then she smiled and let things be. In this time when he was around life took a turn and came back to what it was. As they say, life takes a complete circle and everything comes back to you. He walked off leaving the story incomplete.

Under the grey sky she sat thinking of all that came her way, she just smiled and thought of the role he had to play. She wandered in the world of unexplained thoughts wondering if the story is over or it’s still there, she sat there all by herself waiting for life as it is to come to her. She laughed for everything that had happened was just another happy dream to her.

“Never expect, never assume, never ask, and never demand. Just let it be. Because if it’s meant to be, it will be.”

Let it come to you

Standard

I couldn’t wait because waiting is difficult when I haven’t seen you for a while,

Waiting is difficult for you have not been around for long.

I sat on the window sill waiting to see you walking towards me,

For that is the hope that the wait will be over soon.

The wait made me impatient,

But then the sight of you will be worth all the patience.

The pricking pain of wait gets rewarded with the sight of the much awaited.

Do not haste, take a slow step,

For sake of forever togetherness, do not haste;

Let it come to you!

Options!

Standard

Life poses various options at us every now & then,  and then it becomes very complicated to actually be able to decide what has to be done. From deciding what dress to wear, what college to attend, to what job to take, what friends to make, to listen to what others have to say, to whom to marry, where to save.  Options haunt us everywhere.

Sometime the option that seems the best is the one that you should not have chosen and the one you left for that was the one that could have changed your life for good. This is the funny thing with these options, you really never know which one is good until you actually end up opting for one and missing the other. And yes, how can we forget that every option comes with a li’l price tag. You choose an option and then you miss something. You choose a good college away from home, you miss home; you choose to be committed then you miss flirting; you choose a busy life and you miss those carefree days; you buy a new house and then there you miss your old neighbors and this vicious circle continues  for life.

The best part of having options is that you are always under the thrill and suspense of what will be.  It is like waiting for the climax of the movie. People say they are not adventurous or are very adventurous,  but the actual fact is that all of us are adventurous. We all take chances, the intensity may differ, but we all do. We just come up with our own theories and ways of selecting an option then.

This is what I heard somewhere and now made it my philosophy, ‘it is when the coin is up in the air flipping, you know exactly what you want.’  So embrace life as it come, options just makes it more exciting. :)

The Voice!

The wind was dry and it was getting dark. I knew it was time for me to leave. I stepped out and found myself walking on the lonely street. I could hear the rustling of the leaves and the wind took along all the lonely leaves. Like a tiny li’l lost pup the leaves kept moving with the wind. The time became slow, and it was getting difficult to kill time alone. I wished for some company, but in my heart I knew that this was my lonely journey. I wanted to reach home soon, the place that was mine,  where I feel secure. I kept walking and home was still out of sight. I felt lost, I wanted to give up, I wanted someone around to tell me that I’ll be fine. I searched for a few comforting words, but then it was just a wish. The world around had disappeared and I knew no way to find my way.

Lonely and disheartened,  I sat on the bench in the park around the corner hoping for a miracle to happen. Hoping to find someone around. Hoping to find the way. I cold feel the cold, dry winds brushing my face. I sat there to see the helpless leaves and the swaying trees. It seemed like everything around is screaming to move to a different place.

I closed my eyes to talk to myself, to be with myself. When I opened my eyes she was sitting next to me. I’ve seen her before but I couldn’t place her in my memories. It was creepy to find someone next to you suddenly when you knew that there was no one around a moment before. I was scared, but the look on her face assured me that she was not there to scare me or harm me. She smiled at me and then looked around. I wanted to run away but I didn’t know where to go. Within few minutes I found myself talking to her. She was the company I have been looking for. She knew me, she knew me well. She stood by me when I was alone, she heard me and advised me. She was not scary any more. She could read my mind, she knew how to convince me. The lonely feeling soon dissolved. She gave me company and walked with me on the streets where I was walking alone a while back. I soon reached the place where I was supposed to be. I could close my eyes and relax then.

Time suddenly picked up pace. I opened my eyes and the heavy head feeling was gone. The darkness had faded out. I could hear people talking around me, the lonely streets were not lonely anymore, but she was not there.  I missed her presence. I missed her talks, she was there to help me get through the grey evening. She brought to my notice the greener side of the fallen leaf. But I knew that whenever I am lost in the lonely space, she’ll come to my rescue. She’ll be there when the leaves become dry again.

P.S. The ‘voice’ was me.  ’She’ was me. It was my meeting with myself.

Li’l Joys!

Spent half of last month at home and it was then that I started prioritizing things again. I had enough time to do brain storming and decide the road I want to take. This is when I realize that sometimes things that we think are absolutely necessary in life are actually things we just want, they don’t appear in our sub conscience need list.

There is a lot that all of us want to do and achieve, but at the end of it we need to sit back and do some introspection to see if we are on the right track, the track of real happiness. Our needs might not be as big as our wants but they definitely are more satisfying. It’s like a drop of water; tiny but very refreshing and life saving. It is free and we don’t really focus on its important but still is the most essential element for our survival.

The point is that the quantity, price or size of something does not determine the factors of happiness, it is actually the tiny moments that makes life worth it!

Glad to be alive & to be a human being!

What’s Your Story?

Standard

Onion makes us cry but the same onion adds flavor to the food. Our life too is like an onion, several layers, several stories and little bit of a lot of emotions that make this life a perfect dish. Every layer has a story. A story that we might not realize we are a part of and still unknowingly we play a role. Some stories are typically Bollywood like while some are worth taking note of. A story of love, a
story of hatred, a story of being alone, a story of becoming successful. No matter where you turn your eyes, there is a story everywhere.

“Ma, I am going out for a drive”, I said to which mummy replied, “Beta, but don’t drive fast, wear your seat belt and don’t talk on the phone while driving.” Imagine yourself going on drive one day and mummy isn’t around you to tell you to take care. This is the story selfless love.

The most beautiful stories are the simplest ones. Simple joys make this story complete. We grow up, learn the way of life, and struggle hard to prove ourselves, face the ups and downs of life, get happy, get sad, break down, get up, walk again, start a new life and have a satisfied old age. This is the picture of a perfect life story.

Every day at the bus stand you see a girl, but no guts to talk to her. Next day you reach on time to see her once. Every day you reach the bus stand before time thinking that you will talk to her. Without even realising, you have already become a part of a new story.

When at work, you think of stuff that you wish to do; this is the indication that may be you are in a wrong story. The main plot of the story is like a surprise. In fact the entire story is like an exciting surprise. We don’t know what the next moment would be like and this keeps us interested in reading the next chapter. We all are writers, we all have the access to our stories and we can write it or change it the way we would like it to be or write the next chapter based on the previous inevitable happenings. We can either complicate it or just simplify it. So  ’What’s Your Story’?
